                       SCARBOROUGH CYCLING FESTIVAL 2022
Saturda
y 9th & Sunday 10th July 2022 - Also on Facebook
(Premier Cycling Event on the Yorkshire coast)

PARKING AND TRAFFIC MANAGEMENT:
Due to a collapsed building on our usual entrance to the car park and the camping field (via A165 Filey Road/Jacksons Lane), currently all vehicles will have to access the site by the Mere entrance (A64 Seamer Road). There is a bridge with a maximum clearance of 11 feet so please ensure your vehicle is under this height to include aerials, satellite dishes etc. (TO BE REVIEWED PRIOR TO THE WEEKEND).
There is a parking fee of £3.50 in advance or £5 on the day for the Sunday Races 10th July; on this day, there will be set times for accessing and leaving the circuit due to a permanent road closure. Times are: Before 08.45;  between 12.30 and 13.30 and 17.00-17.30 and any time after 19.00. There are no restrictions on other days.

Road events entries are open on the British Cycling website but won't be accepted until the closing date so that we do not take any money until we are certain the event will run. This includes camping fees. We need sufficient entries in the main events to have enough finances to run them, so please enter early.
Saturday 9th July - Go Mountain Eliminators - see PROGRAMME page for link to full details - closing date 3rd July
Sunday 10th July Road events programme including National Youth Circuit Championships - closing date 17th June

The Festival has been in existence for the last 11 years after a gap of 20 years. The location of the circuit overlooks the seaside town of Scarborough and is famous for the motorcycle road races that have been promoted there since the 1940's. We benefit from the use of a "quiet" day to offset the noise of the motorcycle days. Unless you have ridden the full circuit, it is hard to describe but is unlike anything else used for Youth and Junior races, hence the shorter times for races. It is however, not for the faint hearted as the first edition proved. It remains though, a true hard circuit to test the future stars of cycle racing for another year. Are you ready for it again? We are running a round of the National Youth Series, a 2, 3, 4 Adult Race plus a standalone U12 race. Timing chips will be used again this year.
Don't forget the Hill Climb during the afternoon break and the extra time for the afternoon racers to try the circuit. We are also looking at another supporting event hopefully with the local cycle clubs. As usual, the event field can be booked for Tents, Motorhomes and Caravans via this website - Noon Friday 8th to Noon Monday 11th.
Hope to see you all soon!
